I looked forward to this wedding day from the first call with Payton. Her goal with the video: no poses, no forced anything, all emotions, I want to make people cry.
Music to my ears.
When arriving on a wedding day as a vendor, I feel I am always holding my breath. You never know what exactly you are walking into. They could be in the middle of a makeup meltdown, a missing bridesmaid, or stressing over the groomsmen (I think this one is an always haha).
The second I walked into the bridal house, I immediately was at ease. Everyone was calm, beautiful, and having the best time. We moved throughout the day unhurried and truly enjoying each other’s company.
When it was time to transition to the groom’s house I was honestly expecting what is normal of the groomsmen.. no one is ready. That assumption was incorrect. They were not only ready, they were ready for the day. Everyone’s energy was high and everyone circled the groom. Many times everyone is in their own world, kinda enjoying what the wedding is to them. Not this group. They were all with the groom, making the day and atmosphere entirely about him.
I think it’s often underestimated how much getting along with your vendors truly matters. You are with your photographer and videographer from the time you put on your dress until you kick your heels off at the end of the night. People see beautiful pictures online, but never try to determine: will they fit in with the vibe of the day? Will I feel comfortable in my most vulnerable moments with this person?
Payton was the perfect soul to be around all day. It warmed my insides when she asked us not to leave her alone while she waited in the limo outside of the church before walking down the aisle. It’s those moments where connection truly matters. Just the bride, the videographer (me), and the photographers. We’ve known you for hours but we’re the ones with you right until you walk down the aisle. Sharing the last final moments of you being a Miss.
Dimitry and Payton did what most people do not and they read their personal vows at the altar and skipped the first look. Their vows aligned so much through the words alone you can tell it’s a love match. Much like the beginning of the day, the ceremony was an entire moment. They did not rush, they did not shorten, they allowed that moment to exist and be everything it needed to be.
The thought, love, and planning that went into this Seaside wedding was unmatched. Every detail, every fabric, every napkin was perfectly planned. Payton herself embroidered each napkin for her guests, which blew me away. A ceremony at Seaside Chapel followed by the reception at The Court, every moment was Pinterest perfect met with true authenticity and emotion.
